Neighborhood Experiment

I've finished a second book that will be out in the fall of 2013. It's about reviving the lost art of being neighborly and pot lucking. Several large sponsors are interested but are watching closely as they have challenged me to connect 20 blocks in Los Angeles. Your life will change once you do this.

4 years ago I received a call. He said, "Your house is on fire, there's smoke rising from the roof, helicopters are circling, two people are in your backyard and a couple of police cars are zooming around." I was an hour away. My heart was pounding. I took a deep breath and called 4 neighbors who were at my home in 5 minutes.

Neighbor #1 turned off the alarm; checked inside, made sure my dog was o.k. and saw no fire.
Neighbor #2 flagged down the police and sent them to my house to check out the 2 people in the yard.
Neighbor #3 called me to say smoke from the roof was just condensation.
Neighbor #4 found out there was a break in around the street and police were in pursuit; this explained the 2 undercover cops in the yard.

I fortunately cultivated friendships and had their phone numbers handy. Do you? Most people have little or no contact with their neighbors. You want your privacy, the neighbors are weird and they aren't like you. It's important to rediscover the lost art of being neighborly. Right now, in August you can join in on my experiment to connect neighbors on 20 streets in 45 days. There is no cost. I will give you everything you need to do set up your pot luck will be there to help break the ice.

Contact me at [email protected] or 310-463-7815 (call or text) to sign up.

Lucy had Ethel and Rachel had Joey and friends. The average person has 2 friends... your new ones might be a few doors away. I am excited to help you. If you are in Los Angeles-- please contact me we have 9 more slots available.
