Growing the representation of Women in Leadership:
A Business Imperative

"We observed a distinct trend; the percentage of women decreased as job levels increased. Is it a leaky pipeline?" IBM's PowerUp Initiative

"Several studies link greater gender diversity in senior posts with financial success. McKinsey Consulting and Pepperdine University studies both show stock values climb with a higher proportion of women in power." Rebecca Tuhus‐Dubrow, The Female Advantage

The Athena Factor Research Project showed that over time fully 52% of highly qualified females in STEM quit their jobs due to perceived corporate cultural disadvantages, a sense of isolation that comes from a limited number of female role models and/or difficultly navigating career paths that they feel are unclear.

Join us to begin an interactive discussion focused on the importance of developing women leaders in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) across our ASMC represented companies. Our industry has remained a strong hold with male dominance in senior leadership ranks typically blind to the issues of advancing women. And senior level women either attempting to correct historical imbalances too quickly by advancing women not yet capable or remaining reluctant to engage in the sponsorship of other women. Attendees in past ASMC events ranked this topic as one of the most relevant to their business.

We will discuss the interconnected complexity of:

‐ Aiding women in developing their skills and talents while
‐ Engaging male dominated leadership teams at all levels of the organization to support the development and advancement of high potential women

In our discussion we will touch on subtopics including: Mentoring, Gender Styles Awareness, Work/Life Integration, Creating Diverse Opportunities within existing work structures and Sustainable Networking.

In one hour, we will only scratch the surface!
So, please join us to contribute your thoughts and perspectives on this critical topic.
