They are all contributing to the Earth Gratitude ebooks and project!

In a call to action for Earth Day, a new group that includes contributors His Holiness The Dalai Lama, The Heir to The Throne of the United Kingdom, Elon Musk, Gangsta Gardener Ron Finley, The Duchess of Northumberland, The Earth Day Network, Arianna Huffington, Deepak Chopra, the NRDC, Global Green and more, has come together to offer wisdom on sustainability in two free Earth Gratitude ebooks. These picturesque mini ebooks are available for download at http://earthgratitude.org/, as part of the Earth Gratitude challenge.

What is the Global Earth Gratitude Challenge?
The Earth Gratitude challenge is a simple, but profound, new way to celebrate Earth’s designated annual holiday each April 22nd " by getting as close to personal net zero as possible for at least one hour. Power up the gratitude and power down the grid!

Valentine’s Day has date night. Thanksgiving has dinner. And now there is a perfect way to celebrate the planet that gives and sustains life " with at least one hour of personal net zero. As Deepak Chopra reminds us, “We call her “the environment,” but Mother Earth is our extended body that nourishes our existence in every moment of our life. Let us work to keep her sustainable, so we may in turn be nourished and sustained. Start by devoting at least one hour on April 22nd to give thanks for Mother Nature, and get as close as possible to personal net zero.”

What can you do to celebrate?
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, 80% of U.S. carbon emissions come from the energy sector " mostly transportation and electricity. So riding a bike and powering down for at least one hour on Earth Day can be a powerful start to better habits. So can insulating your home, switching to LED lighting, planting trees and organic gardens, test-driving EVs, powering by solar, and many of the other tips outlined in the Earth Gratitude mini ebooks. Get inspired by the brave choices that Alvin, Jada and Satori Tam are making, in the new Earth Gratitude 4-minute film.

“When everyone pulls together and does their part, the world will be a better place. Not just now, but for generations to come,” said Kathleen Rogers of The Earth Day Network.

“Planting and nurturing trees are virtuous acts,” His Holiness, The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, said in his essay on Practical Steps Towards Protection of the Environment.

“Given that annual new vehicle production is approaching 100 million per year and the global fleet is approximately 2 billion cars, it is impossible for Tesla to build electric cars fast enough to address the carbon crisis,” Elon Musk wrote, explaining why he opened up Tesla’s proprietary technology to the world.

“Going green can put thousands of dollars back in your wallet each year, allowing you to live a much richer life, while preserving our planet,” according to Natalie Pace, the co-creator of the Earth Gratitude project.

The Earth Gratitude team is offering two free ebooks full of tips on sustainability, optimism and gratitude. Download your free Earth Gratitude ebooks, Clean Living and Future Earth, at http://earthgratitude.org/. The Earth Gratitude website will also feature a complimentary, interactive Virtual Event on sustainability and gratitude, which you can sign up for.
