Katherine HammerDr. Katherine Hammer

Evolutionary Technologies International

Dr. Katherine Hammer, president and CEO, is the co-founder and chairman of the board of ETI (Evolutionary Technologies International). Dr. Hammer earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Iowa and taught at the college level. She then made a transition to software development and joined the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation (MCC), where she developed the technology that today is the ETI�EXTRACT(r) Suite.

In 1990, Dr. Hammer and Robin Curle established ETI as the first spin-off from MCC, becoming pioneers in technology commercialization. Dr. Hammer remains the technical visionary for ETI and currently serves as co- chair of the Meta Data Council (MDC), which she co-founded in 1995 with a group of industry-leading vendors.

Dr. Hammer is also the author of the book "Workplace Warrior: Insights and Advice for Winning on the Corporate Battlefield." The book profiles the professional and personal skirmishes that led her to found ETI.

Laura RippySheila L. Paxton
EVP for Instructional Design, Technology and Deployment
Frontline Group

Sheila L. Paxton is the EVP for instructional design, technology and deployment for Frontline Group and president of its Technology Center in Boulder, Colo. She is a gifted speaker and strategic adviser who specializes in helping organizations shift from traditional training methods to the integrated use of new technologies in corporate learning environments.

Recognized as an influential "training renegade" by Working Woman magazine, Paxton was a triple award winner in the magazine's Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards 2000. She was a regional finalist in the "Best Employer" and "Most Innovative Business Strategies" categories; she also was the Western region's only "General Excellence" winner.

Paxton's organization offers full-service consulting, production and support services to help clients create online learning programs and e-learning communities for their workforces-all in ways that relate directly to job performance and lead to measurable performance improvements. Frontline's demo course, eLearning: Pathway to Performance Excellence, was selected by Human Resource Executive Magazine as one of the "10 Best Training Products of 2000." Frontline's e-learning solutions are highly scalable and interactive, featuring rich multimedia technology built around adult-learning theory and anchored in instructional design.

Paxton has a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Maryland and is completing her doctorate in human and organizational development at the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, Calif. She is a member of the American Society for Training and Development and the American Society for Quality Control.

Laura RippyLaura Rippy

Handango

Laura Rippy has extensive experience in Internet, software and consumer marketing, including the management of several high-performing e-commerce development efforts. Prior to joining Handango, Rippy worked at Microsoft for six years where she held a series of marketing and executive positions. While there, Rippy founded MSN HomeAdvisor.com and co-founded MSN Sidewalk.com, two award-winning e-commerce sites.

As general manager for MSN HomeAdvisor.com, she created the business plan, convinced Microsoft executives to fund the business, hired and led the product development team, and managed all aspects of partnerships and marketing. For MSN Sidewalk.com, she drove the original business plan, customer targeting and product development priorities.

Most recently, for Microsoft's Dallas office, Rippy led strategic e-commerce solutions sales for Microsoft's enterprise customers. Rippy holds a master of business administration degree from the Harvard Business School and a bachelor of arts degree in government from Dartmouth College.
