121: Creating Irresistible APIs

Kirsten Hunter is an unapologetic hacker and passionate advocate for the development community. Her technical interests range from graph databases to cloud services, and her experience supporting and evangelizing REST APIs has given her a unique perspective on developer success.

As the lead API Evangelist at Akamai (an API Management company), Ms. Hunter is responsible for evangelizing the API to internal and external developers. In addition, she spends a great deal of time teaching the community best practices in API design and development. Most of her presentations and blog posts focus on API design and development, on creating APIs that are successful, engaging and long-lasting. She has spoken at Future Insights, OSCON, Future of Web Apps, and API Strategy and Practice. As well, she is responsible on a yearly basis for providing a full-day workshop for Akamai customers for the Akamai EDGE conference, to help users interact with this somewhat complex API system. Ms. Hunter also blogs on her site at http://www.princesspolymath.com
