In our fast-paced, overstimulated world, it’s difficult to be purposeful and intentional about how we manage our careers. When we are not intentional, however, we rely on others to guide our careers, which may not align with our own values and goals. We may also have unrealistic expectations of the support others will provide. While supportive managers and mentors are valuable resources to maximize our success, we must empower ourselves to drive our own careers.
