As women in technology, we often feel that we need to work harder and shout louder in order to be given half the recognition of our male peers. What if that weren't true? What if we could change the dynamic?
If we carry ourselves with more confidence, we will find that we will be treated differently. if we KNOW what we bring to the table and OWN IT, believing ourselves to be equal, that's what we will find!
Join WITI Boston and Empowerment Specialist and Impact Coach, Ciara Gogan, for an interactive session demonstrating the skills you can develop to grow your confidence and shift perceptions. You'll learn:
- How to listen
- Methods of gaining self-insight
- Tips for assessing your strengths
- Ways to communicate more powerfully with others
- What it takes to start changing the conversation
Men are always welcome and encouraged to attend all WITI events!
Veteran's Day is Saturday, November 11th. In support of our veterans, Continuum established the Continuum Veterans Foundation back in 2012 which provides financial support to local and national charities that focus on helping veterans find jobs in IT. Along with the Continuum Veterans Foundation, Continuum has continued to support our veterans through various outreach projects such as our annual boot drive and serving lunch at the New England Center and Home for Veterans.
Once again, we have contacted NEHCV to find out what we can do to help our veterans in need as we begin this Season of Giving. As in last year, they need good quality winter boots (new or gently used), but have also requested donations of new underwear such as t-shirts, boxers, and briefs â€" (no socks needed thanks to our Scavenger Hunt donation!) In response, Continuum and our building management company Transwestern, will be sponsoring a Boot and Underwear Drive for Veterans from November 6 through November 22.
Veterans Boot and Underwear Drive details:
- Begins Monday, November 6th through Wednesday, November 22nd
- Winter boots should be new or gently used ~ (Please no children's sizes or fashion boots)
- New underwear should be t-shirts, boxers, or briefs
- A collection bin will be located in our office lobby, with signage posted throughout the building and elevators, and email blasts requesting donations from fellow tenants
We hope that every employee will check their closets for boots, and consider partnering with colleagues, family members, and friends to pool resources to provide good winter boots and new underwear to donate to our veterans in need.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, compassion, and support.
