Storytelling is a useful and effective tool in a leader’s toolbox, but like any skill it must be practiced and honed. To master storytelling, you must first identify the storytelling style that works best for you. You also need to know how to assess your audience and how to fine-tune your message so that it resonates. In a world of many distractions and eroding trust, telling authentic stories that communicate ideas and influence change is more important than ever, both for your company and for your career.
In this session, you will receive tips from an accomplished storyteller on how to craft and deliver powerful stories that will motivate your team members, endear you to customers, and strengthen your personal brand.

Jude Idada is a winner of the NLNG Nigeria Prize for Literature for his book BOOM BOOM, an AMAA best screenplay award, ANAA prize for Drama, a Goethe Institut Afrika Projekt finalist and a long-listed and short-listed nominee of the NLNG Nigeria Prize for Literature for his plays Sankara and Oduduwa – King of the Edos, he has continually blazed a trail in the art scene. He was also a finalist in the New Directions Filmmakers of the future project by MNET in addition to being selected as one of the playwrights for the British Council’s Lagos Theatre Festival. Amongst many, Jude was also selected as one of the screenwriters for the Toronto International Film Festival’s ‘ADAPT THIS!’ and the Afrinolly/Ford Foundation ‘Cinema4Change’ projects. Jude was also an inaugural participant in the Relativity Media/AFRIFF Filmmaking project.
As a filmmaker, he has written several screenplays for various production companies spread around the world. He wrote and produced the critically acclaimed film â€�"The Tenantâ€. He has also directed the documentary â€�"Blaze Up the Ghetto,†the short films â€�"Chameleon†and â€�"The Queen of the Night,†in addition to the feature film â€�"Kofaâ€.
As the Artistic director of the Africa Theatre Ensemble in Toronto, Canada, Jude directed the stage plays â€�"Flood,†â€�"Brixton Stories,†â€�"Lost†and â€�"Comaâ€, the later which he adapted for screen and was produced in South Africa. He directed his stage play â€�"3some†as part of the fringe section of the Lagos Theatre Festival and in a public presentation at MUSON, where he had earlier directed his play ‘Sankara’. He also directed his play, â€�"L’Otor – The Devil’s Pilgrimage†at the Lagos Fringe Festival.
Alongside several optioned screenplays and commissioned stage plays, he has written and published a collection of short stories â€�"A Box of Chocolatesâ€, an anthology of poetry â€�"Exotica Celesticaâ€, two stage plays â€�"Oduduwa – King of the Edos,†and â€�"Sankaraâ€, the first book in a trilogy of novels â€�"By My Own Hands†and two children books â€�"Didi Kanu and the Singing Dwarfs of the Northâ€, and â€�"Boom Boom. †He has three new collection of short stories â€�"Only Crazies Are Born in Aprilâ€, â€�"How to be Human And Not A Colour and â€�"I Had A Father†coming out soon.
