Patricia Martin provides counsel to a variety of clients who need to forge and manage innovative communications through marketing alliances. Martin has helped influential organizations and corporations such as Reading is Fundamental, Inc., National PTA, Schering Plough, Hiram Walker, Dannone, Microsoft, MCI and Unisys Corporation use marketing alliances to create competitive advantage and speed the adoption of their products and services. She is widely recognized as one of the industry’s foremost visionaries in applying technology to the practice of sponsorship.

In 1999, Martin harnessed the power of the Internet by founding LitLamp.com, the leading online service for the sponsorship industry. By doing so, she transformed the industry’s profile. Recognized as the “monster.com” of sponsorship, LitLamp.com serves over 30,000 marketing executives from 32 countries. In 2001, the consulting practice and the online service merged to become LitLamp Communications Group.

Prior to founding the company, Martin served as Vice President for Development and Sponsorship at the American Library Association, where she created the first-of-its-kind marketing partnership program that generated $6.5 million in new revenue in its first 18 months. She is the author of Made Possible By �" What it Takes To Get a Sponsor, due out in 2003, Jossey Bass publishers, and is a frequent speaker including lectureships at the University of Chicago and Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

In 1998, she was named Influential Woman in Business by the National Association of Women Business Owners Chicago Chapter, and she chairs the Marketing Roundtable of the Chicago Software Association and is on the Board of Advisors for the National Arts and Business Council. Martin earned her master’s degree with honors from the National University of Ireland-University College Dublin, and her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
