Mrs. David is the Vice President of Software, West Region, for IBM Corporation, Americas, and will be discussing these questions on a personal and professional level. Amy David is the Vice President for Software for IBM’s Western Region. Her organization is responsible for providing all IBM customers in the West software solutions to meet customer business needs. IBM’s software portfolio offers many middleware solutions to customers in the areas of security, systems management, workforce collaboration, e-business/on demand offerings covering B2B and B2C, data management and business intelligence solutions, and many other key middleware offerings. A key driver for businesses becoming flexible and more innovative includes delivery of IBM’s offerings in the SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) space. Her organization has nearly 700 sales and technical resources to help achieve this mission.

Prior to her current job, Mrs. David was the Vice President of Sales, Public Sector, Western Region. Her organization was responsible for providing Public Sector customers in the West with a wide array of information technology solutions including hardware, software, services, consulting, and systems integration.

Mrs. David joined IBM in May 1983, as a Customer Services Representative responsible for asset management and accounts receivables. In 1986, she became an IBM sales representative for IBM Federal sales assigned to the Department of Energy (DOE) with national sales responsibility for all decentralized DOE sites. Later, she became the S/390 Federal brand manager for enterprise systems. She was responsible for developing marketing programs and winning strategies for enterprise system opportunities for IBM federal accounts.

In 1993, Mrs. David was promoted to Business Unit Executive in the IBM Worldwide Government Industry. She managed the Department of Defense (DoD) contract sales and services organization. Her organization was responsible for maximizing existing DoD contract revenue as well as engaging in business development to enhance future IBM presence in the DoD. In 1996, she became the Client Executive for IBM's Social Services and Education segment focused on the Social Security Administration (SSA), Agency of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Department of Labor, Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and Department of Education. In January 1999, Mrs. David was appointed the Federal regional sales leader for hardware and ITS sales. Her organization was responsible for delivering IBM hardware and services to the Federal government agencies.

In July 2000, Mrs. David accepted the Public Sector West position relocating from Bethesda, Maryland to Denver, Colorado.

Mrs. David has been actively involved in many community organizations as a volunteer or representative of IBM. Positions held include graduate member of Leadership Montgomery; PTA President; Industry Advisory Council (IAC) Partner; board member of Bridges from School to Work, a Marriott Foundation; board member Springbrook High School Business Advisory Council; and member of the Girl Scouts of America.
