John and Melissa Lynch first founded the parent company, 1-800WineShop, ten years ago with a desire to turn their passion for the wine country into a way of life. Living in the Bay Area just outside of the famous Napa and Sonoma wine regions, their frequent trips with friends and family to the wine country led them to discover many wonderful family-owned wineries. They first started offering these limited-production wines through phone and catalog orders. Soon their customer base and reputation grew, and by the year 2000 they had a loyal customer base of thousands nationwide.

In 1999 1-800WineShop held it's first Harvest Party in Napa as a way for customers to experience the wine country lifestyle first-hand. Since then their events have become legendary. Customers began to ask for more local events, including in-home wine tastings.

The WineShop At Home direct sales division was launched to provide a new way for customers to discover, taste and shop for great wines effortlessly in the comfort of home, while simultaneously helping others realized their dream of building their own successful business in the wine industry.
