Carolyn is the founder and president of Inspired Performance, a firm dedicated to helping individuals and teams define and implement strategies for success. Prior to founding Inspired Performance, Carolyn held leadership roles in small and large international consulting organizations, and spent many years in the corporate world as an HR leader in Exxon Corporation. She brings a mix of business savvy, enthusiasm, common sense, and proven leadership behaviors and strategies that will make this event a unique learning experience.

Carolyn Ott is the founder of Inspired Performance; a firm dedicated to helping organizations, teams, and individuals define their goals, then create and implement strategies for achieving those goals. Her keen insight into the business challenges that executives and managers face in these rapidly changing times forms the foundation for her ability to provide the right tools at the right time to assist her clients in leading their business into the future. Her ability to define the critical drivers of success for organizations, teams, and individuals is a defining talent; generated from her experience in strategic planning, change management, senior team facilitation, performance measurement, leadership development, executive coaching, and career development. She has successfully led teams, ranging from officers to project or task force teams, through a unique approach that brings focus and clarity to achieving business results. As an executive coach, Carolyn has assisted numerous executives in defining and honing their leadership style to achieve both organizational and personal objectives. Carolyn has worked with senior staff individuals and teams in the Pharmaceutical, Financial Services, High Tech, Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing, Entertainment, Telecommunications, Healthcare and Non-Profit industries.

Prior to founding Inspired Performance, Carolyn was the Managing Principal of Metrus Group, a firm specializing in aligning organizational strategy, structure, culture and human resources. She assisted senior teams in developing clear strategies supported by a balance scorecard, a focused performance measurement tool. Carolyn managed the firm's operations, with responsibility for the P&L, staffing, sales/business development, as well as providing consulting services. While with Metrus, Carolyn designed and presented seminars for Conference Board and IQPC on balanced scorecard techniques, partnering with clients from High Tech, Pharmaceutical, Energy/Utilities and Healthcare.

Prior to joining Metrus, Carolyn was a general manager for an international consulting firm, Lee Hecht, Harrison. She led the statewide operations, winning the President's Award three consecutive years for outstanding business performance. While at LHH, Carolyn led a start-up, successfully turned around an underachieving office, generated sales, and consulted with hundreds of executives on achieving personal and organizational performance goals.

Earlier experience includes management roles in Mainstream Access, and senior Human Resources management roles at Exxon Corporation.

Carolyn is a frequent public speaker on a wide range of topics including: goal achievement, personal commitment to adaptability, career/life management, performance measurement, and networking. Her speaking engagements include international conferences. She is active in civic and professional organizations including: New Jersey Human Resources Group, as board member and past president; past president and founder of the New Jersey chapter of the International Association of Career Management Professionals; and is a past board member of the Women's Resource Center. Carolyn holds an MA in Industrial Psychology and a BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she graduated summa cum laude. Published articles include: Using Strategic Measurement to Turn Vision Into Reality, Journal of Strategic Performance Measurement, February 2000; Strategic Planning, Implementation and Leadership, Encyclopedia of Management, January 2000; Using a Strategic Measurement System to Align Workforce and Business Strategies, HR At Work, 1998; and Do You Have a Winning Personal Strategy, National Business Employment Weekly, 1997.
