Becoming a CIO and beyond- Sandra Harris
WITI gives you an opportunity to network, meet other members and hear real stories of how women succeed in technology. This meeting is part of the FOOT STEPS series which brings successful women CIOs in to share some of their journey and observations. Sandra Harris, Director of Administrative Services,has responsibility for the IT area plus other functions at the Ford Foundation. She came to this by way of J&J, Nabisco, Maidenform and much more and will talk about her path to her current role and the success factors that helped her get there. Sandra will talk about risk taking and finding opportunities.

Featured Speaker(s)Currently Ms Harris is Director of Administrative Services at the Ford Foundation in Manhattan. The Ford Foundation is a philanthropic organization, which gives over $400 million dollars per year to not for profit organizations. The goals of the Ford Foundation are to “strengthen democratic values, reduce poverty and injustice, promote international cooperation, and advance human achievement”. As the Director of Administrative Services, Ms. Harris is responsible for Information Technology, Purchasing, Information Services, and Facilities Management. She manages an organization of approximately 75 staff members and a budget of over $14 million dollars.
Prior to joining the Ford Foundation Ms Harris worked in the for profit sector. She has many years of experience with consumer products companies. She has worked for Johnson and Johnson, the Band-Aid company; Nabisco, the Oreo cookie company; and Maidenform, which is an intimate apparel manufacturer. At these companies Ms Harris was part of the Information technology organization. She held the CTO position at Maidenform. She has both broad management experience as well as large technology project management experience.
Ms. Harris is a graduate of Brown University in Providence RI. She also has a Masters in Business Administration Degree from Rutgers University, which she earned while working full time.

Go one block - Take the first right into the Prudential complex. There are both Prudential and Organon Signs.
Go through one light, pass Organon visitor parking, go around the building and make the next left into parking (Lot B). Enter through the South Lobby and sign in at the Security Desk to receive a Visitor's badge. There will be escorts to take you to the meeting room upstairs
