The Lost Art of Person to Person Networking

Join us for Join us for 3 facilitators and hands on exercises designed to increase your person to person networking skills. What is networking? How to network? Where to network? What to do after you have collected that big stack of business cards? How does networking help established professionals? This will be an experiential, interactive, learning event. This meeting is jointly sponsored by WITI, the Society of Women Environmental Professionals, ACS' Women Chemists Committee (WCC) and Meredith College. A limited number of Pokens (green business cards) will be available for sale at this event.

Jeanne Moyer is a Realtor, Writer, Speaker, Networker and Environmentalist. Jeanne is affiliated with CityGate Real Estate Services providing buying and selling assistance to clients throughout the Triangle for nearly a decade. As an early adopter of green, Jeanne branded herself as Triangle Green Homes as an expert on green homes and sustainable living. She is one of the first EcoBrokers and Certified GREEN Realtor in the Triangle. She is passionate about energy efficiency and supporting the local economy. Jeanne sponsors local events to provide education about energy, housing and environmental topics.

Throughout her career Ms. Moyer has supported women in the workplace She a member of SWEP, Sierra Club, the NC Sustainable Energy Association and NC GreenPower. She is a networker and founding member of local organizations, Business Marketing Association and Coffee and Contacts, a women’s professional networking organization. She’s an early adopter of technology and uses Pokens as a green alternative to traditional business cards.

Jeanne is a graduate of Meredith’s MBA program, served on the Graduate Student Advisory Board and represented Meredith in the annual Case Study Competition. When is not showing houses or blogging Jeanne spends her time biking, hiking and gardening.

Felicia graduated with a B.A in Spanish from the University of Southern California and has also earned a M.S. Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. Felicia has worked in various capacities for a number of corporations in the Research Triangle Park, NC area.

Felicia is the Regional Vice President for Women In Technology International (WITI). Her region covers North Carolina. In addition to her love for technology, her interests include reading, analyzing stocks and investing in the stock market and playing spades on line.

Felicia’s mission is to evaluate, translate and build information systems, counsel and providing secure networks advancing commerce.

Dr. Laura Sremaniak received her BS degree in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina in 1991, and a PhD in theoretical chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. She joined the chemistry faculty at North Carolina State University in 1996 and is now a Teaching Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the department. In addition to teaching physical chemistry, she has developed and implemented two Computational Chemistry Laboratory courses in the BS curriculum. Her research interests include electronic structure calculations of adsorbates on metal, oxide and zeolite surfaces. Laura has been an ACS member since 1990 and is currently a councilor. At the national level she is a member of the Women Chemists Committee (WCC), chairing the Advocacy Subcommittee, and she also chairs the local WCC. She serves on the local advisory subcommittee for Project Seed, and has assisted with the NC State Fair and the NC Local Section Meetings.
