Agile Impacts for the Enterprise

Agile’s Impact on the Enterprise

At its basis, Agile is a way of working. Based on a set of values and built on a foundation of guiding principles. The reality is those values and principles run contrary to the way business operates today, they are basically counter intuitive to how we’ve been taught to live and work. So when an organization, at any level, considers moving to Agile the must be prepared for a transformation. Most people expect a new process, method or practice. Agile requires a transformation in the way the organization conducts its work.

In this presentation, we will initially discuss what is Agile from a business prospective. This section will look at the values and guiding principles through the filter of how the world thinks today verses how Agile wants you to think. From there we will discuss some of the fundamental Agile practices that have developed off those values and principles, one of the primary practices we will discuss is the self-organized team. Which can carries through to any deployment of agile (from software, to marketing, to sales, to operations).

Finally, we will look at the impact Agile is having on business and jobs. We will look at salaries, certifications, professions and industries. All the data will be taken from the 2013 Agile Salary Survey conducted by ASPE Inc. (over 2,000 professionals across North America filled out the survey). This will help you as a professional decide what direction if any you would want to take on a path to adding Agile to your professional toolkit.
