Mentoring Women in Technology at All Levels

WITI - Women in Technology International is pleased to announce the launch of its structured mentoring program in South Florida. To support the launch, WITI is conducting a workshop on August 21st with leading industry speakers who have extensive knowledge and expertise in mentoring and coaching through other recognized programs and will share best practices as well as lessons learned. The respective speakers participating on the panel include:

* Heidi Waters, Program Chair and Mentorship Chair, WITI South Florida; Program Director, Digital Sandbox
* Sherry Lautenbach, IBM East Region, Business Unit Executive, WebSphere Brand
* Nancy Gumina, JM Family Enterprises, Mentoring Program Leader
* Dr. Whilhelmena Mack, President, W. Mack & Associates
* Susan Leventhal, Regional Director, WorkForce One Professional Placement Network, Broward County

The WITI mentoring program has been developed to provide women with a tangible benefit to receive mentoring or coaching from a senior member in the WITI community, which can be a great boost to someone's career or self confidence. Being a mentor can also teach someone more about themselves than other activities.

Work-life balance is a challenge in today's fast-paced IT industry and so the program is tailored to be flexible to accommodate women's busy schedules. The mentoring program has a built-in quality review component to ensure the satisfaction of the mentor and mentee matchup that originates from an application process. There are also quality checkpoints through the duration of the mentor-mentee relationship and guidelines established to foster the program's success.

Businesses without a mentoring program is like a shoreline without a lighthouse. A mentoring program is an asset to a business in providing employees with guidance in their professional career progress or changing career directions. Learn about this unique program and other mentoring programs that are the foundation of an organization's success and hear from industry consultants with expertise in mentoring and coaching.
