JM Family Hosts WITI Mentoring Program Launch

Join us for the exciting kickoff event of the WITI Mentoring Program. This expanded program was piloted last August with a fabulous panel discussion that included local corporations to convey the value of mentoring and best practices. Join us on February 19th for the full-scale launch of this program with more WITI South Florida members taking advantage of this great program. JM Family Enterprises is our sponsor for the evening.

Join us to network with active members of the business community and to get advice on taking advantage of WITI’s formal mentoring program as a potential mentor or mentee in your company and network. Learn how to be a better boss, mentor, or coach to drive more success for those who look to you as a mentor. As a mentee, learn insightful tips and practices, set realistic goals, and develop a successful mentor and mentee relationship. All levels of professionals are encouraged to attend, from seasoned pros to novices in the business world.

Our keynote speaker is Rajeev Ravindran, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, JM Service Center, LLC who is touted as a visionary leader and mentor throughout the diversified JM Family Enterprises company. JM Family holds Forbes ranking of no. 22 of America’s Largest Private Companies.

Following Mr. Ravindran’s keynote speech, a panel of experienced mentoring program facilitators will share their insights and offer exercises in developing realistic and achievable objectives and success: Nancy Gumina, who manages JM Family’s mentoring program, Heidi Waters, WITI Mentoring Program Chair, and Sr. Project Manager for Assurant, Sheila Smith, President, Omega Point Consulting, and Kendall Brown, Product Consultant for Manpower Software.

The evening will also include a raffle for an executive coaching session with Wendy Wallbridge, President, On Your Mark Coaching, pioneer in the field of coaching. She coaches executives and teams for Fortune 100 and 500 companies including Intel, Hewlett Packard, Disney, and Apple, and possibly you if it is your lucky night.

Rajeev Ravindran, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of JM Service Center, LLC (JMSC), a subsidiary of diversified automotive company JM Family Enterprises, Inc. (JM Family). In this position, Mr. Ravindran is responsible for Information Technology Services Operations, Technology Delivery, Architecture, and Quality Assurance for all JM Family companies. Mr. Ravindran joined the company in 2003. Mr. Ravindran received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from the University of Miami.

Heidi Waters, WITI Mentoring Program Chair and Senior Project Manager, Assurant. Ms. Waters holds to her credit over 10 years of her 16 year career in IT in leading custom, full project life cycle engagements. Whether she is managing a large project or overseeing a portfolio of projects, Ms. Waters has worked in both public and private sectors in diverse cultural environments. Ms. Waters emigrated to the U.S. from Switzerland in 1999 and became a citizen in 2005.

Nancy Gumina, JM Family Enterprises, Mentoring Program Leader. Ms. Gumina is a Senior Training Specialist and has held various positions in human resources and training with JM Family for 23 years. Nancy developed JM's corporate mentoring program in 1999 and manages that program along with the Nova Management Certificate Program. She also develops new courses and teaches a number of training programs including Influencing Toward Collaboration, Business Presentation Skills, and Train-The-Trainer. Nancy is a 2003 recipient of JM's prestigious Award of Excellence.

Sheila Smith, Founder and President, Omega Point Consulting. Sheila teams with global Fortune 500 clients to create and implement new directions that improve IT performance and value, and that strengthen IT’s partnership with the business, including the workshop she delivers, “Leading Change Across IT and the Enterprise”. Sheila led management consulting projects for ten years with Ernst & Young, founded E&Y’s IT Effectiveness practice, and served in their Research Center for Business Innovation. She has been a mentor in South Florida’s pilot program and she serves on our Advisory Board.

Kendall Brown,Product Consultant, Manpower Software, Inc. Kendall's current role with Manpower, an international healthcare software provider is to work closely with the president to build its U.S. hospital sector customer base. She has spent 8 years in the healthcare IT industry and has worked with some of the largest and most reputable healthcare clients such as Blue Cross Blue Shield and HCA.
