WITI is launching a new Climate Change and Sustainability event in our WINS (WITI Industry Network Skills) program series!

Climate Change Professionals, Entrepreneurs and guests are welcome to learn and share their experience in this exciting industry. We will discuss the role technology plays in Climate Change as we create a program which speaks directly to the questions of our community.

WITI's Climate Change WINS community will be interactive and include International Sustainability Specialists, guest speakers, open discussions and breakout rooms to encourage attendee interaction and ensure WITI continues to address your professional interests, industry objectives and personal goals.

This event occurs the first Wednesday of every month.

Okezue Bell is a Nigerian-American high school senior, activist, and social entrepreneur. He is the founder and director of Fidutam, a SIM card-based application that provides micro-loans to low-infrastructure and unbanked communities. Okezue invented the WeArm, a low-cost and 3D-printed humanlike prosthetic arm for below-the-elbow amputees. Bell has conducted research at the intersection of engineering and the life sciences at Harvard Medical School, the MIT Media Lab, and the Boston Children's Hospital.

Okezue hosts STEM, climate, and education workshops globally. He has devoted over 1,000 volunteer hours to impact over 65,000 kids across 80 countries. In addition to his youth mentorships, Okezue works with global sustainability brands to help scale their work to Generation Z demographics. He has worked with H&M, Leonardo DiCaprio, Evolvetogether, and more. His blogs and writing with CellAgri, Medium, Scientific American, and more have reached over 500,000 active readers.

Okezue's work has been spotlighted in Yahoo News, Forbes, the NASDAQ, Business and Market Insider, NPR, and BusinessWire. He has spoken around the globe, including at the UN General Assembly, Climate Week NYC, and WorldSummitAI. Nazenin Gure is Research Assistant at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Beykent University and CEO of ENHAS R&D Energy Systems LLC, Istanbul, Turkey. Her B.Sc. is in Environmental Engineering, B.Sc and M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering. She is a PhD. candidate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey.

Her M.Sc. scholarship is supported by Scientific and Technological ResearchCouncil of Turkey. Her start-up project is selected for Technological Entrepreneurship Industry Support, funded by Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology (MoSIT). Her M.Sc. Thesis on Energy Harvesting is published by USA's leading piezoelectric company: Mide Technology and PIEZO. She contributed as CTO of ENLIL project, which has International Theme Award in Climate Launchpad, Edinburg, UK. She has 8 National Awards including Turkish Economy Bank's 3rd Place.

Her research area are clean/green/sustainable energy, energy economy, climate change, climate change effects on economy, energy harvesting systems, renewable energy, piezoelectricity, biomedical devices and blockchain solutions. She participated hackathons such as MIT Beat The Pandemic II, EUvsVirus Pan-European, Florida Sunshine Hackathon (selected for Silicon Valley) and Facebook F8 Refresh.

She is the board member of Turkish Society of Patent Action. Her recent study presented at IEECP'21 (Silicon Valley, CA, USA). Recently, she performed as Moderator, presented her findings as “honorable invited speaker” in Albedo Meetings, Munich, GERMANY and announced as scholarship winner for ClimateTech by MIT Technology Review.
