Enabling the Connected World through the Internet of Things (IoT)

This will be a great opportunity to raise your IoT IQ!

Forbes Magazine defines the Internet of Things (IoT) as connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet (and/or to each other). This includes everything from cell phones, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and almost anything else you can think of. In fact, the analyst firm Gartner says that by 2020 there will be over 26 billion connected devices.

Jabil, a local company based in St. Petersburg plays a key role in integrating connectivity into the products we use every day. Though the Industrial Internet Consortium, Jabil works with IoT leaders - including founders Intel, AT&T, GE and IBM - to connect and integrate the world around us seamlessly and elegantly. We’ll hear from April Butterfield, to learn about the technologies that enable this connected eco-system and the trends that are changing our daily lives. April will also give a brief overview of Jabil and their 50 year history of helping companies realize innovation including their new Blue Sky Center in Silicon Valley.
