Code your own video game with MakeCode Arcade ages 8+
Recommended for ages 8+, 2 hours
In this free 2-hour workshop, students ages 8+ (who we will call game developers in the workshop) will use block coding to create a game with MakeCode Arcade. In MakeCode Arcade, as soon as you add your first block you can immediately run your code using the in-browser simulator your game will change with each block you add. Students will learn some key fundamental game concepts and core CS concepts and put them into action to create and customize a playable arcade style game. By the end of the workshop, they will swap with a partner to play each other’s games and get inspired by their work. By publishing their games online and recording the URL, students will be able to continue playing and working on their games after the workshop.
