Checking In With Divine Headquarters
By Wendy Wallbridge
The holidays are upon us. For many of us this evokes feelings of both hope and dread. We look forward to a time-out from work, the chance to feel ourselves again, and reconnect with our loved ones. But the "season of giving" can activate old patterns that leave us empty, exhausted and resentful.
The sun is a good metaphor for we humans. It continually creates energy for us by essentially destroying itself day after day, millennium after millennium without complaint. We are imbued with that same generous impulse to give - the destruction part is optional.

Reporting to Wall Street about Diversity
By David Creelman & Norm Smallwood
Metrics are a tricky issue in diversity. On the one hand, numbers-focused diversity programs fail. They fail because they end up forcing managers to fill quotas (which everyone resents) while failing to create a workplace welcoming to women and minorities. On the other hand, the use of metrics is associated with successful diversity programs. Metrics are a "best practice" because management pays attention to numbers and they provide a way to keep score. So the bottom line is that organizations should report on diversity metrics. Just what they should report, and to whom, is the subject of this article.

2. Can what I do be done faster by a computer?
3. Am I offering something that satisfies the nonmaterial wants of an abundant age?
If your answer is anything other than "no", invest some time in Daniel Pink's A Whole New Mind.

Leslie Goodbar's work on exhibit in New York
Leslie Goodbar had two advertising campaigns included in the One Club's Night of the Living Dead show in New York in November. The exhibition showcased creative advertising that was "killed" before seeing the light of day. Leslie's contributions were for a photo lab software by Mitsubishi Presentation Products and a TV spot for a dot-com that's no longer with us - Allpets.com.

Upcoming Network Events:
"At a recent WITI Boston event, I met a former client from 10 years ago when I worked for another company. We sat together at the meeting and got re-acquainted. Since then, my former client has introduced me to several IT executives at their firm to generate interest in our services, which may lead to new business. This demonstrates that networking and participating in WITI events can have very positive results...both professionally and personally."
