About Our Speaker(s)

Anna Brannen was appointed by the Governor as Deputy Secretary for Policy at the California Technology Agency on August 19, 2011. Prior to her appointment, Anna was the California State Board of Equalization’s (BOE) Chief Information Officer. She was responsible for developing and managing BOE’s strategic vision and plans for information technology (IT), and for the daily operations of the Technology Services Department and BOE’s IT systems. Prior to BOE, Anna was a Deputy Director at the Office of Technology Services (OTech), responsible for data center consolidation efforts. Before her tenure at OTech, Anna was an analyst at the Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO), where she advised the Legislature on budget and policy issues related to the state’s IT, procurement, homeland security, and emergency response. Prior to LAO, Anna worked for over 20 years in high-level positions at various departments within state government. Anna has a BA in psychology and attended the MBA programs at California State University, Sacramento and the University of California Riverside.
