The New IT Job Market: Trends and How to Adapt from an IT Recruiter's Perspective

Tuesday, September 15, 2009
5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Let’s face it; today’s job market is tough! If you’re in transition, and actively seeking employment, you know this all too well. Traditionally, Information Technology positions seemed exempt from major layoffs and downsizing job cuts. We’ve learned over recent months that jobs in the IT industry are just as much at risk as jobs being cut from other industries. The good news is, not only are the IT job losses less drastic than the other areas, the IT jobs are being targeted and created in strategic industry segments.

We already know that IT is in a continuously changing state, so what does the industry look like now, where is it heading, and how do we move our careers forward in alignment with the trends? Even if on a different path and a with different view of the skills we have to offer, we can successfully transition into today’s market and land great opportunities.

Join us September 15th, 2009 at Jobing.com to discover the unique challenges faced by IT Recruiters as they seek out the IT opportunities and find the talent to fill them. With some segments struggling with a shortage of talent, and the Recovery Act/Stimulus targeting specific industries, this is sure to be an enlightening discussion from a panel of South Florida IT Recruiters.

You Will Learn:
• What the current trends are and where the areas of opportunity are in today’s market
• What are the skills that employers are seeking and how you can develop them
• What segments are growing and what industries are benefiting from the Recovery Act/Stimulus
• Ways to reeducate, redirect, or rethink your career goals to align with the New IT Job Market
