AR & VR - Understanding Immersive Technology as a New Interaction Platform

Presenter: Galit Ariel

Whether you are an Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality developer, content creator or consumer, Augmented Reality will play a major role in our (near and far) future experiences and interactions.

In this webinar, Galit will:

> Clarify core concepts of immersive tech (AR, MR, VR).
> Address core factors of success and failure in the implementation of immersive technologies.
> Look at Augmented Reality as an interaction platform and the manner in which it can transform notions and experiences within spatial, societal and identity paradigms.

Galit Ariel is a trans-disciplinary creative and strategic thinker, who is passionate about a future that will integrate technology into our everyday lives, but not control it.

Galit defines herself as a "digital hippie," believing that technology should always be applied to better the human experience. Her book Augmenting Alice (July 2017) explores the side-effects of implementing Augmented Reality; and the manner in which Augmented Reality diffusion will redefine core concepts related to identity, privacy, experience and ethics. The book integrates an augmented layer, allowing an additional experiential value, and the chance to update content and data layer.

As a thought leader in Augmented Reality, Galit has appeared in notable international conferences such as The Next Web, SXSW, OnBrand, Emerce eDay, and Slush Tokyo, and she co-curates local initiatives to better understand the future impact of immersive technology.

Through her agency WondARlands, Galit helps clients shape their augmented futures, exploring augmented narratives, interaction tools, brand touch-points and experience creation.
