Breaking the Barriers - Women Navigating Taboo Topics While Climbing the Tech Ladder

Join WITI, Constellation and Randstad Technologies as we bring together influencers and decision makers for a collaborative discussion around their personal journey in the tech industry. We will explore their experiences around taboo topics such as age discrimination and unconscious bias, and take a deep dive into leadership and empowerment. The goal is to reframe how we think and what we do about the gender and diversity gap in the tech sector with stimulated, open conversation that includes tangible next steps.

Alisia Genzler, President and Chief Client Officer

With over 20 years of industry experience, Alisia oversees all sales teams and manages sales performance across strategic, major, key and emerging account segments, bringing strategy to major and emerging client accounts. Additionally, she is responsible for expanding the company’s staffing, permanent and solutions portfolios at the client level. Alisia previously served as executive vice president for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of Randstad Technologies. She graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in finance as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) in finance and financial management services


Tiffany Lauria, Principal Digital Project Manager, Constellation

Tiffany is dependable, action oriented and bold. Fueled by teaching and motivating others and known for being a great public speaker. She is a professional working in the insurance industry with over ten years’ experience in product and project management, agile methodology, and software development. Tiffany currently leads a team that’s disrupting the insurance industry with new ways of getting and managing malpractice insurance with digital solutions. Prior to Constellation she spent her entire career in technology at Target Corporation.

Tammylynne Jonas, Global CIO, Self Esteem Brands

Tammylynne (TLJ) is a seasoned digital and technology executive with almost 20 years of experience leading large, multi-national teams. TLJ is the Global CIO for Self Esteem Brands, the parent company for Anytime Fitness. In this role, TLJ has responsibility for multiple franchise brands, with almost 5000 locations across the globe. She owns development, infrastructure, security and data/ analytics.

Previously, TLJ was the CIO for Holiday Companies, held global leadership positions for Couche-Tard, spent 15 years at Kohl’s Department Stores where she held multiple leadership positions in the digital, technology and operations teams and she also consulted for Accenture. TLJ holds an Executive MBA in International Business from Marquette University, sits on the Board of Directors for the MN Better Business Bureau, the Northrop Auditorium at the University of Minnesota, and is a volunteer for the Girl Scouts.

In 2019, TLJ was named a finalist for “CIO of the Year” in the Minneapolis- St. Paul Business Journal. In addition, she was named a finalist in the “Wavemaker of the Year” by Team Women, to be announced in October. In 2017, she was named “Young Alumna of the Year” by Marquette University. In 2015, she was named “40 Under 40” by the Milwaukee Business Journal.

Eve Poeschl, Director of Solutions Architecture, MentorMate

Eve is a technology-agnostic strategist and consultant that has dabbled in all the things. Her career started with my curiosity about how the Internet functions -- she's worked at an ISP, on a top-secret government network, and consulted for many startups and enterprise companies. She has worked as tech support, a developer, consultant, leader, manager, and mentor. Her vision is to help build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive local tech community. Eve is the co-founder of Mnclude, a safe and supportive community of individuals and peer groups in the Minnesota tech industry. Eve also currently serves as the Community Chair on the board of Technovation, a technology program for highschool girls.

Brianna McCullough, Infrastructure Program Manager, Google

Brianna is an authoritative force conquering dynamic duality as an Infrastructure Program Manager at Google and founder of the lifestyle empowerment brand, Bri Limitless. In her daily mission to diversify the engineering industry, the innovation leader and Detroit, Michigan native, resiliently shares her voice and vision for inclusivity across STEM fields, simultaneously serving youth and fellow millennials with mentorship and enthusiastic encouragement to live life without limits. Brianna’s dedicated discipline and knowledge has led her to captivate audiences at Google Developers Fest, Ernst and Young, Afrotech and so many more. Her engineering milestones earned her the Minnesota Pioneer Women in Tech award in 2017. She is a graduate of Michigan State University.

Janell Nelson, Engineering Manager, Vital Images

Janell is an IT leader with a passion for creating empowered, high functioning teams able to tackle complex challenges and enable business success. She has experience leading teams ranging from 8 to 50 individuals in Healthcare, Medical Insurance, and B2B industries. Currently Janell is working as an Engineering Manager at Vital Images creating Advance Visualization software used by hospitals and clinics around the world and is co-owner of Punk Climbing, a startup company in the rock-climbing industry.

Janell believes the best way to drive success is through diverse and inclusive teams and has been the organizer and leader of Women and Technology ERG's, mentoring programs, and wellness committees throughout her career. She also volunteers and teaches at youth coding programs in the community.

Carey Smith, SVP, Chief Technology Officer, Constellation.
With more than 25 years of experience in strategy, innovation, digital disruption and emerging technologies, Carey Smith oversees the information technology, analytics and security organizations at Constellation. He is committed to leveraging technology to achieve significant business transformation outcomes, operational efficiency, revenue and market share growth to meet Constellation’s goals—as well as intrigued by the intersection of technology with customer engagement and brand loyalty.
Experienced in delivering innovative technology products that disrupt markets, Carey came to Constellation in 2017 from Blue Cross Blue Shield Minnesota, where he delivered solutions that leveraged artificial intelligence, the internet of things (IoT) and voice-enabled cognitive capabilities. In fact, Carey is an active evangelist for emerging technologies, speaking both locally and nationally on digital innovation.
As the technology leader for Constellation’s innovation team and a member of Constellation’s Leadership Council, Carey ensures that technology solutions continually strengthen the stability of the company, provide positive customer experience, and—most importantly—enable physicians and other clinicians to maximize their care for their patients and for themselves.
