As an information technology consultant, you are the expert that deliver solutions to meet the business objectives of your customers/clients. Companies hire consultants when their inside expertise, talent and or resources are lacking in particular areas, such as cloud applications and computing, security and AI. Many organizations require that consultants have the relevant credentials within specific technology spaces. There are challenges being a consultant such as staying on top of the latest and greatest technologies, customers/clients expecting a know-it-all and consultants being used for staff augmentation for example. Being a woman in IT consulting, however, comes with its own set of challenges.
