Powering Technology Through Education: AT&T to Award Two Scholarships at WITI Summit
5/6/13

Today more than ever, technology companies are accelerating the pace of innovation - and keeping pace means embracing collaboration, new business opportunities and most importantly continued education.

The WITI - Women In Technology International Annual Summit, June 2-4, is a time for leaders from across the globe to come together for a common purpose - to foster collaboration and engender continued success in technology. Each year, AT&T's Global Supplier Diversity Organization sponsors several of the most highly regarded education programs in the country. I'm very proud to announce our executive program scholarship opportunities for 2013:

- Dartmouth College's Tuck WBENC Executive Program
5-day session: October 6-11, 2013
- Kaplan University's Entrepreneurship - New Ventures Program
6-week session: July 31, or Oct 30, 2013

These elite programs are designed to help transform small business executives into strategic business leaders"helping move businesses "to the next level" of their growth. The programs work to position companies to become suppliers to major corporations. We will award both scholarships during this summer's WITI Summit.

AT&T has long held the belief that the educational development of minority, women and disabled veteran owned business enterprises (M/WBE-DVBEs) is an investment that yields rich benefits for our customers, the community and our company. In 2012, AT&T's Global Supplier Diversity Organization spent $12.8 billion with certified diverse businesses - including $3.2 billion with WBEs. Such investment helps expand diverse businesses' competitive edge in the marketplace.

For us, connecting certified diverse businesses extends beyond our annual spend. WBEs not only bring value to our company, but also offer a unique perspective, and help improve our position as a technology company. From chambers of commerce, international supplier forums, community based organizations, to diversity councils - I'm a believer in education and an advocate for progressive women owned businesses. I'm a member of the board of directors of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and I know that AT&T's continued engagement in organizations like WBENC, WITI, and others build relationships that will help move technology forward and change the world.

The education program courses will provide participants the necessary tools to enhance their business. I encourage you to review the application criteria and apply for this distinct opportunity to learn with global leaders, challenge yourself, advance strategic growth - and ultimately bolster innovation that can change the world.

Application Deadline: 5/27/13.
