“The Simplicity of Networking” Targets Local Women in the Technology Industry

The Simplicity of Networking �" Women in Technology International will host a unique networking event �" one that educates about the art of networking, while also providing a venue to practice these skills. The event will feature local networking guru, Leona Thomas, who grew her networking base from three to 500 when she moved to Portland just over a year ago.

The presentation will be followed by time to enjoy complimentary appetizers and cocktails with other women who consider technology central to their businesses and careers. This mixer will provide a fun, informal occasion to make business contacts, find possible sales prospects, look for future employment, or just to have a good time.

Leona Thomas: Leona unexpectedly relocated to Portland about one and a half years ago �" without a job and only three adult contacts in the area. Since then, Leona has met and established relationships with more than 500 people in the Portland area. Now employed as Application Technology Manager for Norm Thompson Outfitters, she also acts as co-chair for WITI Professional Development Program.

From West-Cedar Hills/ Beaverton/ Aloha/ Hillsboro
US 26 East (Sunset Highway) to City Center/Market Street exit. Take Market to river and follow I-5 South to bottom of hill. Turn left at signal onto SW Montgomery. RAC parking lot is the second RIGHT.

From North-Jantzen Beach/ Vancouver/ Longview/ Seattle
I-5 South to Marquam Bridge. Do Not use I-405 South! Take Beaverton/City Center exit off bridge (I-405 North) to 4th Ave. exit. Turn RIGHT onto Market to river. Follow I-5 South sign to bottom of hill. Turn LEFT at signal onto SW Montgomery. RAC parking lot is the second RIGHT.

From Airport-
Use Airport Way East to I-205 South. Stay left to Salem. (Do Not use I-84 East!) Take RIGHT turn onto I-84 West/City Center. Then follow directions below.

From East-East County/ Rockwood/ Gresham/ The Dalles
I-84 West to I-5 South (Salem). Across Marquam Bridge stay LEFT to I-405 North (Beaverton). Exit on 4th Ave to Market Street. Follow Market to the river. Follow I-5 South sign to bottom of hill. Turn LEFT at signal onto SW Montgomery. RAC parking is the second RIGHT.

From Southeast-Milwaukie/ Gladstone/ Oregon City
99E (McLaughlin Blvd.) North on Grand Ave. LEFT onto Hawthorne Bridge ramp. Across bridge turn LEFT onto SW First Ave. to Market St. Turn LEFT to river. Follow I-5 South sign to bottom of hill. Turn LEFT as signal onto SW Montgomery. RAC parking lot is the second RIGHT.
