Professor Niki Steckler of OHSU/OGI?s Management in Science and Technology Department will weave together traditional approaches to career development with new research that turns conventional wisdom upside down. You will learn and experiment with actions you can take now to explore next career steps that build on your existing strengths and lead you to new challenges and opportunities.

Instructor:
Niki Steckler is Associate Professor in the Management in Science and Technology Department at the OGI School of Science and Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University. Steckler?s expertise centers around mental models and influence without authority. Dr. Steckler has worked with organizations including General Electric Co., Goldman Sachs & Co., Harvard Business School, Honeywell Inc., and U. S. West Communications in various executive education and consulting capacities. Her recent National Science Foundation-funded research focused on communication and collaboration across organizational boundaries. The recipient of multiple teaching awards, Dr. Steckler also volunteers with AWSEM (Advocates for Women in Science, Engineering, and Mathematics), a program to help teenage girls learn about careers in science.
